Latest Commission...Another one bites the dust!
This new babe is off to the great state of NY, (pending approval, just call me over eager- because I am in love). I miss her already. Brand new acrylic painting 36" x 36". Lately I've been slammed. Interior designer by day, I'm working on a new residential project in Mumbai (think GIGANTIC house, lots of crystal !), a local downtown Los Angeles hotel, an office project in Arizona, a secret charity project in New York (more on this later!), and holiday parties to boot. Keep on keeping on right? Lots of love for your holiday season....

Sweet Weekends
Dreamy sweet long weekends... I love. Mostly lots of time with friends and eating all my favorites. I've recently selected my next commission painting of choice (... Okay, I love when I can be choosey.... I can't help it!)- and I am so enthused about it! I'm so unbelievably excited to begin. This large mod portrait for an amazing duo in New York that I am already convinced are just the most lovely people. ( More to come on that later ) For today... I'm obsessed with these sugar coated candy soft images from Puet-Etre Magazine. Hmmmm. What a sweet soft world this is.

Masks Richard Burbridge
Strange Masks by Richard Burbridge... I love these. Pictures for those days when you don't feel like talking. A little bit scary, soft, deeply expressive. I would paint these if I wasn't worried what people would think, which perhaps I shouldn't be worrying about anyways! I love them.

Daily Muse: Wintery Fashion
I've been on a secret mission to find inspiration for my next painting... one for my bedroom. Now that my room mate and I are getting all settled into our cozy apartment in Brentwood, I am ready to start getting my art up- "the girls" as we call them! I am on a quick holiday to Colorado and I guess it has me appreciating the seasons again. This is a beautiful wintery fashion spread 'Glacial Glamour' from Flare Magazines December issue... I am just loving the soft tones and bold accents. Styled by Elizabeth Cabral and photographed by Chris Nicholls. Beauty.

Sartorialist Shows Fall Fashion
Fall fashion on the Sartorialist lately... I'm loving it all. Fashion is so much more than clothing. There is something about piling on layers, the muted colors... and the tailored pieces that appear each fall that is understated and comforting every time. Bring on the comfort of fall...

Daily Muse: Frida Kahlo
I really want to start a new painting... but I've had the oddest feeling lately! I'm so inpsired by artists who are unafraid to paint what they feel, and stay true to themselves. I often find myself wanting to start a new piece while trying to drown out worries of what people would think. Am I becoming the portrait only artist? What are people thinking?
Love a woman like Frida who makes you remember why not to care, and to pursue your dreams with abandon to judgement. Her pieces, inspired by her tragic life of heartbreak, accidents, and medical operations- are filled with pain. They make no appologies, and are shocking but wonderful. Here are some of her more tame peices, but please do take a look see at some of here other work. I admit I was totally confused why her paintings were so 'crazy' until I looked into her life, and now I love them. Read more about here life HERE. Be sure to check our our dear Frida.

Gold Jewerly: Pile it on
Absolutely adore these piled on looks. Too much? I doubt it... Especially the peice that looks like a spine. Amazing! I am thinking of doing a painting just inspired by these!
If you know the sources of these... please let me know! Too good not to share. xo
