Lavender Heat

Loving Lavender right now. I mean love. I'm pretty excited to have included some of this lovely in my latest painting! Lavender Heat. It's that sweet feel of spring you can smell in the air and feel in your bones. Peaceful. Having been busy on the design front working on some amazing commission pieces, this one was the first painting I've done for just myself in a bit, which is kind of a guilty pleasure.

I hope you like her! Love to hear your thoughts! Jessica Rae

Masks Richard Burbridge

Strange Masks by Richard Burbridge... I love these. Pictures for those days when you don't feel like talking. A little bit scary, soft, deeply expressive. I would paint these if I wasn't worried what people would think, which perhaps I shouldn't be worrying about anyways! I love them.

Sartorialist Shows Fall Fashion

Fall fashion on the Sartorialist lately... I'm loving it all. Fashion is so much more than clothing. There is something about piling on layers, the muted colors... and the tailored pieces that appear each fall that is understated and comforting every time. Bring on the comfort of fall...

Gold Jewerly: Pile it on

Absolutely adore these piled on looks. Too much? I doubt it... Especially the peice that looks like a spine. Amazing! I am thinking of doing a painting just inspired by these!

If you know the sources of these... please let me know! Too good not to share. xo

Latest Commission

Latest commission portrait! Commissioned by one of the loveliest clients far away from my home on the west coast. Being able to share my art and reach the lives of people I have never met face to face? Brilliant. It's been a long past few weeks with moving and my two openings- Very Venice Art & Design, and Whole Foods Santa Monica- and I'm ready for a weekend of relaxation. Possibly a little training for my upcoming half marathon- oh yeaaaa nearly forgot about that one.

Lately

These days- there is allot of hair in bun, hoop earrings, and floral inspiration in my life. I'm excited about the current hair/bun acceptance. Talk about the epitome of fashion meets lack of time meets amazing. Mostly working to get things ready to get up as the featured local artist in Whole Foods, Santa Monica which I am so very excited about.

As always, excited to share my work with more people--- and finding my girls a tiny hard to part with :)

Whole Foods Santa Monica Show!

It can be so hard selecting my favorite paintings for a show! How can I ever pick my favorites? I've been working on my line up for what will appear for my local artist show at Whole Foods on Santa Monica(Starting the begining of October!!), and it is coming along.... slowly. I am just so excited to have my art there, it is one of my favorite places on earth. No seriously, I am a sucker for the healthy environment, food, friendly people, and roasted veggies. I've been going to Whole Foods for YEARS and never dreamed I would get the opportunity to have my art be a part of their space. What could be better? Now if only I can pick! Here are some top favs....

And also...

And for the larger paintings...

Lastest Painting!

I've been falling for RED lately. Loving the passion and the richness behind this color. In a fluke paint session over the weekend my latest painting got her own red wash and I'm loving it. I was worried about taking away from the passion in her face, and I am trying to figure out a name for this one. As usual, this fits on my montra of "words are easy... I want to speak without them."

Love to hear your thoughts...
